Interesting Places and Architecture

In Acapulco, we recommend that you visit a unique and indestructible XVI century construction, built to defend the port city against possible pirate attacks. Today it is open to the public and is a treasure that you will truly appreciate.

El Fuerte de San Diego – Located on Hornitas Street in the Colonia Centro neighborhood, this is an old fort that has been converted into the Acapulco History Museum. There, you can learn about the fort’s history and visit different rooms entitled: The Manila Galleon, Pirates in the Pacific and Trade from the Orient. A spectacular light and sound show is offered, which narrates the history of the port during colonial times.
